Middle School

Letter to the Parents and Guardians Fall 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a brand-new school year! I’m excited and honored to have the opportunity to work with you and your children-- some of you again! To those of you who know me from when I taught your child in third grade, some things will feel familiar: my energy, my expectations, my deep care for your child. But some things will be different, too — this is middle school, and with that comes a new level of responsibility, independence, and maturity that we’ll be building together.

Middle school is a time of huge growth, and my goal is not only to support your child academically but to help guide them in becoming kind, respectful, and responsible young people. In our classroom, we are working toward something bigger than just grades or test scores — we are working on building good humans.

That begins with how we show up. I expect all students to bring a positive attitude to class, to participate, and to take responsibility for turning in their work on time. I am here to support and guide them, but I will not do the work for them. Learning how to show up consistently and with effort is one of the most valuable lessons they can learn right now.

I want to be clear: I will hold your child to high expectations because I care deeply about them. I will show up for them every day with fairness, consistency, and wholehearted love. I will encourage them, push them, support them, and celebrate them — but I won’t accept less than their best effort. We all have off days (kids and adults), but showing up with a poor attitude and expecting different results isn’t what we’re about here. We’re learning how to grow through challenges, not avoid them.

Thank you for trusting me with your child. I appreciate your support at home in reinforcing these expectations and encouraging your child to take pride in their behavior, work ethic, and growth. If we work together, I know this will be an amazing year.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions, concerns, or just want to connect. I’m looking forward to another great year — and I’m so glad I get to be part of your child’s journey.

With high expectations and a full heart,

Mrs. Kassidi Knuchel
